Hello, I'm Kirsty, the proud owner and visionary behind Greene Moon Studios. GMS offers a blend of Art Therapy, Yin Yoga, Wellbeing Workshops, Peer Supervision, therapeutic art tools, and the FAT Moon podcast. Recently, my focus has been on providing tailored wellbeing sessions for therapists, mental health clinicians, frontline workers and allied health staff, integrating Somatic therapy and therapeutic art-making to foster healing and resilience.
Born on Australian soil as a fifth-generation immigrant, my lineage is predominantly Irish with a sprinkle of English and Finnish heritage. Fueled by a profound passion for spirituality and holistic wellbeing, I've delved into various somatic modalities, embarking on a journey of self-healing after experiencing burnout. This voyage led me to embrace my calling for community and wellbeing, manifesting in roles as a registered nurse, certified Art therapist, and Yin Yoga instructor.
For over two decades, I've immersed myself in guiding individuals through somatic practices, specialising in Yin Yoga with offerings spanning across Australia, Argentina, and Spain. Witnessing the transformative power of these practices brings me immense joy as I facilitate moments of tenderness and self-discovery through breath and movement.
With 18 years of experience as a registered nurse across diverse fields, including mental health, palliative care, and homelessness, I've cultivated a deep-seated appreciation for human resilience and the importance of holistic care. My journey into Art Therapy further enriched my understanding of the human psyche, igniting a passion for guiding others in exploring their inner selves through creative expression.
The inception of the FAT Moon Podcast stems from a collective curiosity among therapists to learn from each other's experiences and practices worldwide. It's a privilege to delve into the journeys, passions, and insights of fellow Creative Therapists, fostering a global community of learning and connection.
Presently, I work as an Art therapist with Young People in Custody Narrm/Melbourne, Australia.
My approach is anchored in authenticity, cultural responsiveness, and a commitment to fostering genuine connections. I strive to create a warm and inclusive environment where individuals feel empowered to explore and express their innermost selves.
As a member of ANZACATA and PACFA , I remain dedicated to upholding the highest standards of practice and ethics within the Art Therapy field.
